Ever since I was a young boy, I've always loved competition. Whether it was an exchange of witty repartee with a fellow student, or standing in the batter's box waiting to see a 75 mph fastball - I wanted to win. If there was pressure, so much the better. During my glory years as a Little Leaguer, I combined competition with the idea of entertaining the crowd. I was usually the best player on the field. So at a young age I learned what it was to be "in the spotlight" and to get a standing ovation.

I suppose that's why I fell in love with acting. Now I compete with myself. Pushing the limits of my abilities, while providing audiences with entertainment that allows them to cry, get angry, and be happy as they take the journey with the character. Also, what could be more fun than playing make believe?

So you see, there is only one obvious occupation to choose for my life's work - acting.

With regards to "The Demon Pope". It gives me such joy to be part of a project where the talent is so plentiful. It's anybody's guess who'll steal the show. The playwright? The director? The actors?

In any event, with this play I'm taking an eagerly awaited step home.

I have acquired experience in independent feature films and shorts where I've played the lead or supporting role (Negative Image, Lead Me Not, Steel Beach, The Hard Truth). The theater work I've done has been mostly confided to the East Bay, (West Side Story, Wait Until Dark, Each Day Dies With Sleep). But now I get to perform for the theater crowd of my hometown, San Francisco. This is a city where audiences can choose from a wide variety of productions. From Broadway stars in a big theater, to eager actors in a basement somewhere. Any actor has to go above and beyond to put on a outstanding performance. That is my goal.

I would also like to mention the following people for their support in pursuing my dreams. My family, Ed Trujillo, Kathleen (DVC '95), Jim Coari, John Paul Nelson, and Michael Kameron.

Thank you for supporting theatre arts and….oh yeah, ENJOY THE SHOW!
